When a large, multi-national manufacturer was looking to standardize how they evaluated production and downtime across their entire enterprise, they chose ScoreKeeper from Amtech Automation.  

Their needs were not unique. As with most manufacturers, managers and executives needed to stay informed of production performance and OEE, while crews struggled with meeting and exceeding production goals.   Since this particular organization had many locations, they were leveraging several different solutions trying to connect to different ERP systems, in an attempt to stay ahead of performance goals. This was creating IT nightmare in trying to stay ahead of interface updates and changes. Corporate didn’t have a clear, real-time picture of their entire enterprise. Production Managers were seeing data presented in many different ways which created difficulty in trying to measure and manage to performance.   Since there was no single data-source for performance metrics across the enterprise, it difficult to develop, implement, and manage corporate-wide performance standards.

After some industry research they contacted Amtech Automation and learned how we could help them solve their issues and provide a single solution to connect their shop floor to their top floor. A few things they embraced about ScoreKeeper was that each machine could connect to our edge-to-cloud IIoT data management platform which automatically senses whether a machine was running or not and could connect with their host ERP, of which they had 4 disparate systems.   Because our platform is equipment agnostic, they were able to leverage shop floor/TV displays they already had for presentation of current job information, speed, setup time goals, etc.   They also liked that they didn’t need any special onsite engineers to visit their plants for implementation which saved on implementation time and costs. Our industry-standard components make it easy to maintain and service.

The project was painless.   In less than 6 months, hundreds of machines in many countries were connected to a single production monitoring tool, Amtech Automation’s ScoreKeeper, that delivered intelligence and performance statistics served in 5 different languages.   All of this delivered under the budget they had originally allocated for this project.

The results? In less than 30 days, some locations were reporting up to a 25% increase in productivity.   Each plant could view real-time information on displays and dashboards and corporate could manage their entire enterprise on a single set of views from a synchronized, centralized data warehouse. Things like current job information along with speed and setup time goals and downtime reasons assigned for any stoppages over a user-defined threshold are now available at simple glance or tap of the screen.
